What We Do
Rescue and Transform
In the heart of rural Ballia, our journey begins with a simple yet profound mission: to rescue and transform the lives of mentally disabled children. We leave no stone unturned, visiting every corner of the district to seek out families in need. Once we identify these precious souls, we offer them refuge and a new beginning in our unique Mansik Mandit Visesh Vidyalaya. Here, these children, aged 5 to 23, find a nurturing environment that empowers them to thrive.
Progressive Educators
Our specialized teachers, equipped with D.Ed. (Special Education), play a pivotal role in our children’s development. They provide personalized attention and support to students with physical, mental, and sensory disabilities. We believe every child deserves the best opportunities to unfold their full potential, and our teachers are top class in making this belief a reality. Because we are not just changing individual lives; we are making a profound impact on society.
Holistic Care
At Samajik Utthan Samiti, we believe that nourishing the body, mind, and soul is essential. We rely on the generosity of sympathetic individuals and the Niramaya Card Yojana, which provides 1 lakh medical claims per year. This allows us to offer free food, comfortable lodging, and other essential amenities. Our team comprises physiotherapists, MBBS doctors, a music teacher, and a yoga trainer, ensuring that our children receive comprehensive care. With an 8:1 student-to-aya ratio, their well-being is our priority.
Safeguarding Futures
Dishonest and ill-wishing relatives pose a threat to these vulnerable children. We ensure their safety and protect their assets by addressing disputes through a 3-member Local Level committee. This committee, consisting of a Samajik Utthan Samiti representative, the District Magistrate (DM), and the Zila Divyang Jan Sasakti Karan Adhikari, makes decisions in the best interest of the child’s future.
